Australian fuel discount programs are worth between 4 and 12 cents per litre on their own — and up to 14c/L when stacked under officially documented combination caps. The catch: most programs prohibit stacking entirely, and the ones that allow it cap the combined total below the arithmetic sum. This guide lists every major program with values verified against each operator's official terms on 24 August 2026.
How much does each fuel discount card save?
Every standing program currently running in Australia, from supermarket dockets to state auto clubs:
| Program | Discount | Where it works | Key condition |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flybuys / Coles docket | 4c/L | Reddy Express, Shell Coles Express | $30+ Coles shop, 150 L cap |
| Everyday Rewards | 4c/L | EG Ampol, Ampol Foodary | $30+ Woolworths shop |
| Telstra Plus | 6c/L | 7-Eleven | Free membership, barcode in My Telstra app, 2× per day |
| Uber Pro at BP | 6–12c/L | BP (650+ sites) | Driver/delivery partners; tier sets the value |
| Ampol Energy | 10c/L | Ampol FuelPay & Foodary (not EG) | Ampol Energy electricity customers, 1,500 L/year |
| Origin Energy | 4c/L | EG Ampol | Origin electricity/gas customers |
| RACV | 5c/L | EG Ampol | Offer ends 21 September 2026 |
| NRMA | 4–5c/L | Ampol Foodary | Paid My NRMA membership |
| RACQ | 4c/L | Caltex, participating Puma | 120 L/day |
| RAA | 10c/L in SA, 4c/L interstate | Caltex + BP/Shell/Mobil/Ampol in SA | 120 L/day |
| RACT | 6c/L (9c with $15 in-store) | Bennett's, Bonney (TAS) | Member card |
| RAC | 4c/L | Caltex + Better Choice/Gull/Peak in WA | 120 L/transaction |
| AANT | 8c/L | United (NT) | App barcode only, once per day |
| United loyalty | 4c/L | United | Free app signup |
| In-store spend bonus | 4c/L (EG/Foodary) or 10c/L (Reddy) | Same transaction as fuel | $5+ (EG/Foodary), $20+ (Reddy) |
Two of the biggest values are the newest: Uber Pro drivers get 6, 7, 9 or 12c/L at BP depending on their tier (Blue, Gold, Platinum, Diamond) through BP Rewards Unlocked, and Ampol Energy electricity customers get 10c/L for up to 1,500 litres a year.
Which fuel discounts can you stack?
Only a handful of combinations are officially allowed, and every one has a published cap that is less than the sum of the parts:
| Combination | Where | Combined total |
|---|---|---|
| Flybuys docket + $20 in-store spend | Reddy Express / Shell Coles Express | 14c/L |
| NRMA + Everyday Rewards + $5 in-store | Ampol Foodary | 13c/L |
| RACV or Origin + Everyday Rewards + $5 in-store | EG Ampol | 10c/L |
| NRMA + Everyday Rewards | Ampol Foodary | 9c/L |
| RACV + $5 in-store | EG Ampol | 9c/L |
| Everyday Rewards + $5 in-store | EG Ampol | 8c/L |
| Everyday Rewards + RACV | EG Ampol | 6c/L |
Why don't the numbers add up? The operators cap them contractually. RACV's 5c contribution, for example, drops to 2c the moment you stack it with an Everyday Rewards docket — so 5 + 4 + 4 becomes 10, not 13. These caps come straight from each program's published terms, not from testing at the pump.
Everything else is single-use only. RACQ, RAA, RAC, AANT, United, Telstra Plus, Uber Pro and Ampol Energy all state in their terms that they cannot be combined with any other fuel offer.
The 14c/L ceiling, in dollars
The best officially documented stack in Australia is 14c/L at Reddy Express / Shell Coles Express (4c Coles docket + 10c for spending $20 in-store). For a typical driver:
- 50 L per week at 14c/L saved = about $364 a year
- The more common 8–10c/L stacks are worth $210–$260 a year
- A single 4c docket used weekly is worth about $104 a year
The in-store spend requirement matters, though: a 10c/L discount that requires buying $20 of shop items only makes sense if you were buying those items anyway.
What changed in 2026?
Three things worth knowing if your information is older:
- Uber's fuel partner is BP, not Ampol. The Uber × Ampol deal ended in November 2022. Drivers now register for BP Rewards Unlocked through the Uber Pro app; the discount is tiered — Blue 6c, Gold 7c, Platinum 9c, Diamond 12c — on the first 120 L per day.
- Telstra Plus at 7-Eleven is back to 6c/L. A limited 10c/L promotion ran until 11 August 2026 and has ended.
- Ampol completed its acquisition of EG Australia on 30 June 2026. Around 480 EG Ampol sites will be rebranded to Ampol Foodary or U-GO over the next two years, which will gradually reshape where the Everyday Rewards, RACV and Origin discounts apply. RACV's EG Ampol offer is already scheduled to end on 21 September 2026.
Do supermarket fuel dockets still exist?
Yes. The Coles 4c docket (redeemed via Flybuys at Reddy Express and Shell Coles Express) and the Woolworths 4c docket (redeemed via Everyday Rewards at EG Ampol and Ampol Foodary) both still run in 2026, each requiring a $30+ supermarket shop and expiring 28 days after issue. They are no longer the headline act, though — energy-provider perks (10c/L), state-club stacks (up to 13c/L) and the Reddy in-store stack (14c/L) all beat a standalone docket.
Frequently asked questions
What is the biggest fuel discount in Australia?
The single largest standing per-litre discounts are 12c/L for Diamond-tier Uber Pro drivers at BP and 10c/L for Ampol Energy customers and for RAA members in South Australia. The largest documented stack is 14c/L at Reddy Express / Shell Coles Express.
Can I use two fuel discount cards at once?
Only where the operators publish a combined offer. The EG Ampol network (Everyday Rewards + RACV/Origin + in-store spend, capped at 10c/L), Ampol Foodary (NRMA + Everyday Rewards + in-store spend, capped at 13c/L) and Reddy Express (Flybuys + in-store spend, capped at 14c/L) are the only stacking networks. Every state auto club outside NSW/VIC, plus United, AANT, Telstra Plus, Uber Pro and Ampol Energy, prohibits combining.
Is a fuel discount better than buying at the right time in the price cycle?
Timing usually wins. East-coast price cycles swing 30–40c/L between trough and peak, dwarfing any 4–14c/L card discount. The best result is both: fill up near the cycle trough and apply your biggest applicable discount. Our guide to fuel price cycles covers the timing half.
Do fuel discounts apply to premium fuel and diesel?
Mostly yes — with exceptions. NRMA pays 5c/L on premium fuels but 4c/L on regular. LPG and AdBlue are excluded almost everywhere (Telstra Plus, RACV, Origin, Ampol Energy all exclude them). Check the linked terms for your card.
Tracking which of your cards applies at which station — and what the pump price actually becomes after the discount — is exactly what FuelWise does. Toggle on the cards you hold (including your Uber Pro tier, or any custom discount you get through work or an app), and every price in the list, on the map and in CarPlay shows your real net price.
